Gary M. Wellings 1958-1998
It is my unhappy duty to report the untimely death of Gary at the early age of 40. Gary joined Thompsons Chess Club at the age of 12 and played for a number of years, before moving to Bushbury Chess Club. He played in the Birmingham and Wolverhampton Chess leagues and played for the county, at both Junior and Senior levels, and was a fairly strong player. He will be missed by Bushbury CC and all who knew him. Sincere condolences are offered to his family on behalf of myself and on behalf of all members of the league who had the privilege of knowing Gary.
