Paul Sharratt – funeral details

Our Honoury Records Secretary unexpectedly and sadly passed away on Monday 10th February. Our condolences go out to his family and friends. Paul devoted large amounts of his time and energy to both the WDCL and the wider chess community. Having been a longstanding member of Stourbridge he recently setup Kinver Chess Club in his home village. In particular his role and expert advice on Safeguarding was well appreciated by many clubs and players. As a player he reached to over 1800 with regular games in the WDCL, BDCL, Dudley and Worcestershire leagues. His commitment and professionalism will be sorely missed.

Funeral details : Wednesday 25 March 2026 11:30am – Service at St Peter’s church, Kinver

12:15pm – Burial at Comber Ridge burial ground, Kinver

Wake at Kinver Constitutional Club following burial

Donations rather than flowers preferred – to a charity yet to be confirmed.
