1.Nf3 d5 2.d4 Nc6 not optimum but ok, invites Bb5 pin and double pawns 3.Bf4 Nf6 4.h3?! not optimum but white wants a long term retreat for Bishop if Nh5 Bf5 5.a3?! Effective but perhaps overcautious and e3 better than a3 as is a developing move. e6 6.e3 Ne4 looks good but perhaps a bit early and black is underdeveloped 7.Bb5 Great move and white is now confident of winning edge as light squares are weak around black king, pawns will be doubled and white knight poise to jump to e5 a6 8.Bxc6+ bxc6 9.Ne5 c5 g4 considered but c3 opens lines for white queen 10.c3 subtle and coaxes black to gain a 2nd pawn but I saw that white attack would be ultra powerful, Q+N and black has no defence cxd4?? 11.Qa4+ c6 12.Qxc6+ Ke7 13.Qb7+ Qxf7+ is white's target if Kf6 but black King has no safe squares anymore. Black can block and sacrifice Queen or play Kd6. Kd6 14.Nxf7+ Resigns due to Kc5 15.cxd4+ Kc4 16.Ne5# 1–0
