{"id":3653,"date":"2025-01-22T12:10:42","date_gmt":"2025-01-22T12:10:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wdclchess.org.uk\/blog\/?post_type=news&#038;p=3653"},"modified":"2025-02-17T15:27:18","modified_gmt":"2025-02-17T15:27:18","slug":"brian-whitehouse","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.wdclchess.org.uk\/blog\/news\/brian-whitehouse\/","title":{"rendered":"Brian Whitehouse"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>From John  Fahy Warley Quinborne Chess Club<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is with sadness that I am writing to inform you of the passing of Brian Whitehouse, arguably Warley&#8217;s longest serving player and long-time Club Treasurer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have been advised by Brian\u2019s son John, that Brian had been admitted into the QE as he had suffered from an infection which subsequently developed into pneumonia and sepsis. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On recent visits to the Club, Brian would often recall some of the great local chess players of the past and encounters against them.
