The Staffs Chess Congress is returning for 2026.
It’s 27th, 28th, and 29th March 2026.
(This is the last weekend in March, when the clocks spring forward, and is the weekend immediately before Easter.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are open for entries now; some have entered already.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This notification is for NSDCA local league club members.  Please forward.  Places are limited to 96 players; enter early to avoid disappointment.  There are just 9 weeks to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a couple of days, we will send this reminder to last year’s entrants, and then on to the neighbouring North West and Midlands clubs.
It’s advertised already in the ECF calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re building on the 2025 100th anniversary congress;  
the venue is better (Victoria Hall Kidsgrove), 
the date is better – to avoid clashes and secure the best Chief Arbiter,
the prizes are better – in that we will recognise the best performing females too,
the catering facilities are better,
the (licenced) bar is better,
the transport links are better,
free parking is available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
