	Les was a hardworking supporter of [[~~Teflord~~ \| Telford Chess Club]]. He acted as both Club President and Treasurer, the latter a duty he had undertaken for over 20 years. It is with great sadness that I report the death of Les Roberts on 21st April 1999 aged 74 years.

I first met Les when he became MCCU treasurer and came to know him well. He was always willing to provide help and support. He will be sadly missed by Telford Chess Club and all who knew him.

On behalf of all involved with Wolverhampton Chess League my condolences are extended to Les's family and to Telford Chess Club on their sad loss.
