William A. Cross 2002
Dudley chess suffered another sad loss when Bill Cross, another long serving member died recently. A "Chess for Fun" player, Bill tried hard to help to keep the Dudley Club going despite his poor health.

His son, Robert, who lived in Halesowen before emigrating to Australia, donated his father's chess library to Halesowen Chess Club, so that other local chess enthuisiasts could enjoy them.
