A New Season is with us again!!
Our records secretary has once again done an excellent job in sorting out the league structure and organising the fixtures, all that is left now is for us to start playing!
The season kicks off on August 30th with the head to head between Mercia B and C teams in Division 4. The first Pittway Cup match is on Sept 7th between Stourbridge and Halesowen, with holders Lichfield having a bye in the first round.
Let’s also remember the individual competitions that the league run, and encourage all those who want a bit extra chess to enter the Rock Cup and Bidgood Trophy.
Our wonderful wedsite continues to get praise from all quarters, and this is the very best place to follow all the action.
Some exciting news from Staffordshire, the county will field an under 140 team this season, to be captained by Peter Windows.
This is a new team and draws on the strength in depth that WDCL have in this grading bracket.
Peter will be organising teams, and will draw on players from all across Staffordshire.
